Educational Implications

FAMILY

Parents and families leave the most impression on a child. Families are an educator’s best partners in a child’s schooling. Educators must therefore try to cooperate with the families of their respective students.

1. Regular consultations between parents and teachers. This is usually done every end of semester, during card giving day.

2. Parent education.  Parents are taught by teachers on how to help in their child’s education ex. Anti-Bullying seminars

3.) Asking a parent to be more active in his/her child’s education. Ex “read 1-2 hours with him everyday to train him how to read by himself, “Tutor him 1 to 2 hours a day”

COMMUNITY

Popular figures in a community are  influential to a student’s education.

1. Politicians dictate how a student learns

     ex. K-12

2.) Figures in radio, print, film and television, set the trends

     ex. twerking, planking, etc.

3.) Same figures also educate or raise awareness about certain issues

ex. Heal the World, ALS Ice bucket challenge, Kony.

SCHOOL

The role of schools is to be, in the simplest, a place of learning. A traditional way of learning is the standard student teacher relationship. But students nowadays not only learn from teachers, but also learn from other sources as well.

1. From other students- Group works, assignments and/or activities are given to students help them learn together by contributing skills they learned beforehand.

     ex. lab work(dissection)

2. Web people- Used nowadays as a major source of knowledge and resources especially for academia.               ex. wikipedia

3. Print People- their works, usually gathered into a book, is used as main reference for a subject or course.                      ex. a book about Plato for a Philosophy class
